Daniel Negreanu is a poker player from Toronto, Canada who moved to Las Vegas in the early 2000s to chase his dream of being a professional poker player. The decision turned out to be a great one for his career as he not only achieved his dream of becoming a professional Poker player but also earned millions of Dollars by playing cards. Negreanu was born on July 26, 1974, in Canada and had a tumultuous childhood. He wasn't interested in studying much and eventually dropped out before Graduation. In his 20s he decided to make a move to LA to become a professional Poker player.
Before the game got a boom in the US Negreanu was winning big on the table. The most important feature of his craft was his ability to read the minds of the opponents and create a charming image among the masses.
Come 2007, Negreanu became the brand ambassador of Poker Stars, a position he held for over a decade before pursuing something new in his life. It was a surprising move given PokerStars paid him millions of dollars over the years. He linked with GG Poker, an upcoming Poker site, and today he is the face of that company.
Negreanu won his first WSOP bracelet in 1998 in a $2,000 pot-limit Hold'em tournament. He won 5 additional bracelets after that but the cabinet has been empty since 2013. During the 2004-2005 WPT season, he won two World Poker Tour titles, including the prestigious Five Diamond World Poker Classic for $1.8 million. In total, he has over $52 million in live tournament cash, good for seventh all-time.
Negreanu is one of the most accomplished poker players ever. He's won six WSOP bracelets, and two World Poker Tour titles, and was a beast in high-stakes cash games in the late 1990s and early 2000s. His biggest cash was when he finished runner-up to Daniel Colman in the 2014 $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop for $8,288,001.
Even in his 50s, he's still tasting success. During the WSOP Online Bracelet Series event, Negreanu cashed 37 events out of 85. But his crowning achievement as a poker player is his 2017 Poker Hall of Fame induction.
